Une Terre Deux Fois Promise: Israël-Palestine plot

After the 1948 war, the first concern of the State of Israel is to welcome Jewish immigrants from all over the world. In 1956, a crisis arises when Egyptian President Nasser nationalizes the Suez Canal, heightening tensions between Israel and its Arab neighbors and fueling Palestinian nationalism. After the Six Day War - with a victory for Israel - the country significantly expands its territory and takes military control of the Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem. The expulsion of the Palestinians and the first Jewish colonies in occupied territory marked the start of half a century of wars and intifadas.
