He is still regarded today as 'The King of Rock and Roll' and is regarded as one of the most significant cultural icons of the twentieth century. He broke through in the 1950s and at that time was often only pictured with his torso because of his obscene hip movements while dancing. His influence on contemporary music is still enormous.
