Het Schoonmakersparlement plot
In 2010, the Netherlands experienced the longest strike since 1933. The Dutch cleaners stopped working. To prevent them from ever becoming invisible again, they now choose 50 cleaners themselves every two years to represent their interests. Their name: the cleaners' parliament. Several times a year, these cleaning MPs, elected by their thousands of colleagues, meet to discuss their daily work, their working conditions and their commitment to collective bargaining.
