This documentary tells the story of Maurits Cornelis Escher (1898-1972) in his own words, as he wrote them down in letters and diaries. Who was this man who passionately, almost obsessed, amazed the world with his imagination, in which impossibilities become possible and in which infinity is within reach and at the same time elusive? Escher takes us on a journey through his life. We follow him, in search of inspiration, on his travels through Italy, Switzerland and Spain and we experience how he came to his great works while puzzling. He talks about his amazement, his fears, doubts and successes, and gives his vision of his own work.
