If Wong Kar-Wai's 'In the Mood for Love' (2000) had less jazz and more Britpop. Here, not a sensual dance between two lovers, their forbidden adultery, and the prevailing taboos in a bygone era, but algorithms that determine in the background who belongs to which love partner. I want to like 'Hang the DJ' (2017) in how he (Joe Cole) and she (Georgina Campbell) know that attraction is there, but make themselves dependent on a system that weighs more heavily than their own feelings. But honestly? It is yet another variation on the idea of the world as a simulation and that authentic/inspired by technology interact with each other. It is a big plus how the search for a love partner of the two characters is visualized, but a certain film by a certain South Korean filmmaker did this much more refined and stylish. Maybe I should go see it again!?

Quite a nice episode. Again, in a world that is completely shielded and therefore not always credible, but fortunately it mainly revolves around the people, so that is less disturbing. Visually it also has a chic luxurious appearance, so it is best to look away. And the central couple has a nice chemistry. But other than that you do have the feeling that more could have been done with this, it's all a bit tame now. 3.0*.

Fine. I like a normal setting with a sci-fi sauce. I have to say that I am quite allergic to romance things, and that is the main focus of this episode. The fact that I can handle it reasonably well speaks in favor of BM. Original premise. Nice dose of humor and a not too harsh nod to reality.
