After a bunch of books with secret codes are stolen by Abner Smith, Agent Steve Trevor enlists the help of Wonder Woman. She has just left Themyscira, for the wide world needs a protector like her. The case turns out not to be easy.

Wonder Woman stars Cathy Lee Crosby, long before we see the first Superman film. A television film and it shows. You can't exactly compare this to the later Wonder Woman. The sequel The New Original Wonder Woman from 1975 with Lynda Carter. This 1974 film was not a hit with the studio and it was only with the pilot film with Lynda Carter that a series followed. That film (which is actually a double episode) already shows many more similarities with Wonder Woman from 2017. So it is best to forget about this first film. Clearly a learning experience in a genre that, perhaps outside of the Batman series, still had many question marks for the makers.
