Mediocre.

Starts quite atmospheric, especially the scenes in the forest. It all looks neat and although the film never really manages to be scary, it still has a dark and mysterious atmosphere. After the first 15 minutes, the rest is really just a no-brainer.

But then a modern horror rears its head again. It is not enough to make a nice horror film, there must also be drama. That comes in the form of adoption issues (seriously), which completely disappears from the film halfway through the pace. I have no idea who keeps coming up with such ideas, but it rarely works.

Towards the end the film tries to add some more horror, but by then the calf has actually already drowned a long time ago. The acting is good, the film is neatly shot and it doesn't last too long, but the balance between horror and drama is lost and the drama is especially unnecessary in films like this. Missed opportunity.

2.5*

Not good.

A horror film that shows some potential, but not nearly enough to be called average. The director knows what to do sometimes, but misses a lot of elements, so the film never really gets off the ground.

First of all, it really lacks the tension and threat. The scenes in the forest, for example, are put together above average. Beautiful, spooky and sometimes almost fairytale-like. You can do so much with this, but not much is done with it.

The acting is also pretty bad. The teenagers are clearly inexperienced, and that doesn't matter, but don't let them show up in projects like this just yet. Cheramy certainly does her best, but her appearance is far too simplified and set up too simply. It is still far too clearly a child and not a paranormal appearance.

Film is also sometimes very boring. Many events hit like a pair of pliers on a pig. Now it is always a bit that in horror films not everything has to be logical, but here it was sometimes very serious. You have to know your limits in credibility.

The film is definitely not good, but there are a few things in it that help it up a bit. Including the woods, but also cutting McLeod. We don't see it that often, which is why it's all the better here.

Too bad the film doesn't have much to offer. The horror is not scary and even a bit uncomfortable in design. And not in the good way. Moreover, the film is not too entertaining. With a better cast, script and make-up this would undoubtedly have been better. But not too much effort seems to have been taken for this.

Quite a reasonable horror film, I didn't like the acting, but the young girl did a good job. It's not really horror, but it's entertaining.
