The Reagan Show plot

"Our country was his stage."

Former actor and General Motors spokesperson Ronald Reagan managed to maintain his media image by using his own film crew who filmed him throughout what became known to insiders as The Reagan Show. This documentary intersperses never-before-seen footage from that archive with news footage to paint a picture of the highs and lows of his presidency (from 1981 to 1989), focusing on the negotiations with Russian leader Mikhail Gorbachev and how both protagonists tried to use the media to their advantage.
