Pustoy Dom plot

Kyrgyzstan, early 21st century. Ascel is 19, beautiful, free spirited and pregnant with her boyfriend Marat. She earns a meager income by selling fruit by the side of the road. In search of a better life, Ascel marries Sultan, the richest man in her area. The morning after the wedding night, Ascel reaches into his treasury and flees to Moscow for an abortion. However, the doctor puts her in touch with the French Virginie, to whom Ascel sells her unborn baby. Meanwhile, Marat and Sultan are looking for her. After an incident between Marat and the man she works for as a housekeeper (including “extra benefits”), Ascel decides to go to France with Virginie. Ascel discovers that her patroness is mentally out of order…
