"Don't let your family get caught in the crossfire"
Los Angeles, 1992. In the South Central neighborhood, Millie is raising a dozen adopted children on her own. Jesse, the eldest of the family, and William, the newcomer, dispute the beautiful Nicole, who has only just fled the family home. Meanwhile, the television news reports extensively about the trial surrounding the abuse of Rodney King. That young black man was severely beaten by four police officers. The disillusionments that await this trio on the amorous terrain are mixed with the current events that set the country on fire.
