Krizácek plot

One summer day little Jan, the only descendant of knight Borek, puts on his child's armor and runs off to go to the holy land. His deeply concerned father goes after him, but luck is not on his side. He keeps meeting people who have seen the boy, but is just too late to intercept the boy. Slowly, Borek becomes more and more desperate.

In a few days my second film by Václav Kadrnka. I liked this one less than Osmdesát Dopisu (Film, 2011) anyway. It is a film that is just as aimless and meaningless as the main character: a nobleman father who goes in search of his runaway son. The remarkable thing is that the setting is special with that medieval approach.

But it doesn't really bother. Long winded and boring. With many observational shots that make the minutes pass painfully slowly. A film that also has hardly any fame. Rightly so, as it turns out, because it ripples on listlessly, like a balloon that slowly deflates. A film with little to get out of it.

The film and by extension the director also have a brother dead on dialogues. Because there are hardly any conversations, let alone a back-and-forth discussion of about 10 sentences.
