Tokyo Idols plot
Girl bands and pop music permeate Japanese life. 'Tokyo Idols' highlights a cultural phenomenon driven by an obsession with young female sexuality and internet popularity. Ri Ri is a pop singer. Her "brothers" are a group of avid adult male fans who spend their lives following the girl in the virtual world and in real life. They were once considered to be on the fringes of society. The 'brothers' gave up their well-paid jobs to turn their attention to female idol culture. In this way they ensured an influential flow via the internet and the growing disconnect between men and women in ultramodern societies.
