Burma Storybook plot
After years of isolation, poetry is still immensely popular in Burma/Myanmar. Poetry helped the Burmese to survive the tough years of military dictatorship. With the recent rise of the internet, the country has even more online poets than bloggers. "Burma Storybook" is a breathtaking journey through a wonderful country where time has stood still. The stories and poems in this documentary revolve around the foremost living dissident poet – Maung Aung Pwint. For many years he was imprisoned for his poetry and activism. Free at last, he now awaits a reunion with his son who has been living in exile in Europe for twenty years.
