Achter de Duinen plot

Since 1923, bodies washed ashore on Schiermonnikoog have been buried by the local hotel owner Sake van der Werff. He did this up to and including the Second World War, partly thanks to the cooperation of the German occupiers. On the beaches of the island, bodies of sailors and soldiers from many countries were found and buried in Vredenhof, a quiet place behind the dunes.
