Simshar plot

"Inspired by true events"

Young Theo is allowed to join his Maltese fishing family for the first time on a fishing trip. However, things go horribly wrong when their ship the 'Simshar' sinks and they drift behind in the Mediterranean. At the same time, Alex is a doctor on a Turkish merchant ship that rescued a group of African boat refugees between Malta and Italy. The people on the Turkish ship end up in a hopeless bureaucratic war between the two countries over who should take in the refugees.
