With a lot of pain and effort a meager six so 3 * and that was partly due to the short running time of this miniseries, which is divided into 5 parts and each episode starts with a look back and a preview of the next episode so that the episodes have a small Take 20 minutes per part. It was also a pity that everyone spoke high English, including the Germans, and that did not come across very well. Furthermore, the decoration it is all too new too clean etc etc. For example the trenches should have felt cold and wet with a lot of mud and shit so that you could already see that you would get sick with the sight of all this misery. The terrible ending of the series is so far-fetched that it almost became ridiculous and despite this data I watched the series in one go (TIP save the episodes and watch everything at once) and still had a good time. What could have been a memorable miniseries is now just a miniseries for a rainy Sunday afternoon, nothing more, nothing less. If you like these kinds of films or miniseries, look for "In Vlaamse Velden" (2014) - imdb.com because this is highly recommended.
