Based on a story by Ernest Claes and so we almost certainly end up in Flemish village life.

Here then in full WWI, which increases the classic intrigue, the occupation with being friends or not with the enemy, a bit of romance, the mayor, the schoolmaster, the notary, the French-speaking caste and an inevitable drama that makes you think. votes.

Forty years old and it shows.

It is nice to see a lot of Flemish artists - some of whom have unfortunately died in the meantime - in a younger guise.
