Nakia (1974)

Nakia plot

Nakia Parker is a full-blooded Navajo who works as a deputy sheriff in the 1974 New Mexico town of Concord, Davis County. He works here with Sheriff Sam Jericho, Deputy Sheriff Hubbel Martin and the office secretary, Irene James. Ben Redearth is an Indian friend of Nakia and Half Cub is Nakia's twelve-year-old nephew. Nakia uses a mixture of the ancient customs of his tribe and modern police methods. Instead of using a police car, he alternates between driving a pickup and riding a horse during his police investigations. Nakia tries to protect his fellow Native Americans and protect them from unfair treatment as much as possible.
