Patrick Lefevere has been one of the most important and influential figures in Belgian cycling for 30 years. As a team leader and manager at the leading Mapei and later as CEO and co-owner of the Quick Step institute. In all the great cycling stories that have captivated Flanders over the past 30 years, Patrick Lefevere has a hand somewhere. But who is the man behind the successful manager and how did he achieve the status of Godfather of Belgian cycling? What is Patrick Lefevere's background and what drives him to remain maniacally involved in cycling despite all those successes? Patrick Lefevere, Godfather of the race, tries to look into the soul of the godfather of Belgian cycling. Each episode focuses on an aspect of his life and work. Lefevere talks about it himself, but there are also testimonies from those closest to him. Great cycling champions such as Johan Museeuw, Tom Boonen and Remco Evenepoel will speak, as will many others who have competed with or against Patrick on the cycling stage.
