On March 20, 2023, it will be exactly twenty years since the war in Iraq began. A controversial war that brought down dictator Saddam Hussein, but which subsequently caused great instability, resulting in a civil war and a lot of violence. Journalist Tom Kleijn has frequently reported from Iraq for various media over the past twenty years. In this triptych he goes back to take stock. He travels across the country to the places where he reported back then, and visits the people he has met in recent years. How have they seen the country change? How do they look back, and how do they see the future? Is there resentment, hope, optimism?
