The series continues where we last saw the Rafter family six years ago. Dave and Julie have built a new life in the countryside with their youngest daughter Ruby, while the older children face new challenges and Grandpa Ted struggles to find his place. While Dave enjoys his newfound freedom, Julie must reevaluate her family responsibilities.
