El Cid plot

Ruy Díaz de Vivar is a young nobleman who is loyal to his master, Sancho, the future king of León and Castile. As he fights to rise, his natural talent entangles him with a sword in a conspiracy to overthrow the king, which would cause as much bloodshed, pain and death to Christians as to Muslims.

El Cid season 1

I have not seen the film from 1961 but this is certainly not a failed version. I enjoyed looking at this. Spaniards are very good at thrillers, but I have never seen them before in a historical series. I always find it interesting to actually learn more about history through film. This is something I would probably never look up unless I was actually visiting the cities in question. El Cid has everything a historical series should have, castles, knights, battles, royal drama, love affairs, etc.
