Okay, that's what it looks like in terms of ending. But it is very cumbersome to suddenly go back in time for the 'twist'. Rachel could also have been informed about the fork and handle much earlier, but then it wouldn't have lasted longer than a regular feature film... All in all, still a nice watch, but the five still stands.

The Capture is an exciting conspiracy thriller with - after 2018's Bodyguard - one of the best opening scenes in a long time. Season 2 builds on the first part. That means a lot of camera images, deep fake and a special unit (S015) where you don't know who can be trusted. It delivers disturbing and nail-biting moments.

Lead actress and whistleblower DCI Rachel Carey (Holliday Grainger - Strike) has a kind of hyper-focus that doesn't make her very identifiable or sympathetic. The second leading role is for Minister Isaac Turner (Paapa Essiedu - Gangs of London, I May Destroy You). As a minister, Turner struggles with his credibility, but so does his role in the script. These are minor negatives. The continuous conspiracy and conspiracy theories make The Capture a fast and furious spy thriller about a future that is closer than you hope.

Even worse than the first season which I didn't think was possible.

Besides being a thriller, it's more of a SiFi fantasy series. It makes it sound like everyday intelligence agency fare, but it makes no sense. I do think it's fodder for conspiracy theorists. They'll see this as confirmation of the Deep State theory.
