The British drama series Industry is about a number of intern at London investment and investment bank Pierpoint & Co. The young and especially sexing, sniffing and manipulating financials have been employed for 3 years now and the lockdowns have just ended. Star of the show is Marisa Abela (Yasmin) who acts convincingly vicious, vulnerable and seductive. Almost the entire cast is excellent. The pace is increased a bit in S2, so especially in the first episodes you have to keep your attention.

S2 focuses more than S1 on the sometimes inimitable financial constructions. Not much seems to have changed morally since the banking crisis of 15 years ago; every relationship is based on personal gain. In S2, the open-plan office is regularly left for 'trips' (just like in Succession), in this case to Wales and Berlin. As if the hunting scenario isn't full enough already.

At its core, Industry is a deep search for love and security in a cold, superficial and unreliable world. The thin synth score fits in seamlessly with this. Fans of Succession or the Norwegian Exit are catered for.
