Was this the best season or the worst? That doesn't bother me at all. Ciro got a big head? Who cares?
Because what a series this was as a whole! I have never enjoyed the hardness of the Neapolitan Gomorrah so much. Rock hard and where sometimes the women were even harder than the men. How many Capitans have I met and said goodbye to when they were shot with love. The most beautiful Italian woman I've ever seen, Cristiana Dell'Anna, entered. Moments that really felt that The Godfather was around. And two very charismatic protagonists who carried this series from start to finish. Storylines with twists and turns that regularly left me with an open mouth full of amazement. Never so much enjoyed all the deaths (and in any way!). And what an ugliness of buildings, houses, interiors, parks and cities. I have to go and have a look at Scampia. I hope I make it out alive...

That was the last season. Two episodes shorter and I think that's an issue. Because that is completely at the expense of details and atmospheric drawing. There was a lot less of that this season. The series always had some tendencies to be theatrical, but often made up for that by also telling very casually. In this season, the theater dominated. By far the least season and compared to 1 to 4 quite a disappointment. But apart from that still quite a bit better than many other series.
