Lewis plot

Lewis is set in Oxford starring Detectives Inspector Lewis (Kevin Whately) and his assistant Detective Sergeant Hathaway (Kevin Whately). Robbie Lewis served as Detective Sergeant to Detective Chief Inspector Morse's assistant for many years. After his death, Lewis takes an exam and is promoted to Detective Inspector. After the death of Lewis's wife Valerie, who has been the victim of a hit-and-run in London, Lewis takes a job with the British Virgin Islands Police Force. Two years later, he returns to the Oxford police force, where he is assigned the twenty-year-younger intellectual Detective Sergeant James Hathaway as an assistant.

And that was Lewis, second time (at least). It remains a very nice series, although half a half less could also be done. The murder cases themselves are often fun, but almost never very surprising, put together, but oh well. It is mainly Kevin Whately, the former assistant of the legendary Inspector Morse, who is working his way up to a full-fledged successor in his own way. At the end here you'd think Laurence Fox might get his own spin-off, but that didn't happen (I do see him - and Lewis - popping up in the TV series 'Mystery!', but when that I can't find out via Imdb)... The supporting roles of Clare Holman (Dr. Laura Hobson) and Angela Griffin (DS Lizzie Maddox) are also worth mentioning.

I'll just leave the 3.5*, for convenience.
