Wonderful series in which David Attenborough talks about the beautiful nature that still exists on earth. He does, however, often repeat how much everything is threatened. At a certain point you think: "Yes, I know, I've heard that enough".

''This series will celebrate the natural wonders that remain, and reveal what we must preserve to ensure people and nature thrive."

I think the first Netflix series I watch after seeing that autoplay trailer when you play Netflix on the TV. The beautiful images that I already saw made me extremely curious and the high expectations were absolutely fulfilled: Our Planet is a feast for the eyes. It remains fascinating that it is possible to capture everything so accurately and clearly. I like to believe that behind the scenes a lot of blood, sweat and tears goes into a documentary series like this.

What sets Our Planet apart from the umpteenth episode on National Geographic, beyond the diversity of the episodes, is that the series contains a theme that David Attenborough himself articulates perfectly in the intro (see the quoted sentence at the top). It is true that the documentary often confronts us with the facts, but that did not bother me. In fact, in my opinion it is completely justified, because apparently people still need a wake-up call. Fortunately, the series does not only preach that we are wrong, but also shows how the problems can be solved and where successes have been achieved. As a result, there is a nice balance in the tone of the series: not only sad, but also optimistic.

I really enjoyed it. I've seen organisms and locations I've never seen before, the images are supported by good music and David Attenborough's clear, pleasant voice is simply a perfect voice-over. If you're interested in the subject, you can't go wrong with this wonderful series.

4.5*

A great series to watch. In eight beautiful episodes we are presented with the most beautiful images. The jungle, the North Pole, but also oceans and the African savannas; everything passes in the series Our Planet. Legendary Sir David Attenborough, 92, has provided the series with commentary as only he can.

In contrast to the Planet Earth series, the series pays much more attention to ecological problems and the impact of humans on nature. Through the biomes (Biomes are large vegetation zones) we get to see the most beautiful images. Text and explanation how the animals live and yes also how things are getting worse with the animals and their living environment. Is that too often mentioned, no, certainly not. Each episode represents a different vegetation and each environment experiences different threats. In addition, at the end of an episode, advice and tips are given on what we can do about it.

You can only be full of praise for the quality, that's enjoyment. Also unique images that you have never seen before. Impressive and sometimes breathtaking. If you are a nature and animal lover this series is a must see. For those who haven't seen enough by then.. The book Our Planet was published on November 5th.
