The Shadow Line plot

The investigation into the murder of Harvey Wratten is assigned to Inspector Jonah Gabriel. It is his first case since a botched police operation in which he himself was shot and his partner was killed. Jonah suffers from memory impairment as a result of a bullet that has not been removed from his skull. Like many of his colleagues, he seriously doubts whether he is ready for the real work again. On the other side of the line is Joseph Bede, former partner of Wratten. While Wratten was in prison, Bede built a legal business. Now he wants to strike one last decisive blow with a gigantic drug deal...

A powerful seven-part BBC miniseries about Inspector Jonah Gabriel (Chiwetel Ejiofor), who suffers from amnesia after a traumatic shooting. He becomes involved in a murder case that gradually begins to dominate his life and that of the people around him. The cold, slightly distant atmosphere of the series is cleverly captured and the acting and dialogues are of a high standard. Great supporting roles also from Stephen Rea and Rafe Spall.
