La Tierra Roja plot
Pierre is appointed by a multinational company in Misiones, in the north of Argentina, to manage the deforestation and planting of new pines. A rugby enthusiast, he also leads the young local team 'Los Carpinchos'. Pierre has no moral objections; he cuts down the trees, burns them and dumps agro-toxic products on this fertile soil to boost his company's profits. In Misiones there are countless deformed babies, mentally handicapped children and cancer patients because of the use of these agro-toxic products. Meanwhile, a movement of outrage is brewing among the locals and Pierre sees some of his own employees leave. Pierre is also in love with Ana, a young activist teacher who takes sides with the population. Cornered, Pierre will also have to choose sides.
