Tombville plot

As a boy, David witnesses his mother being beaten by an abusive man. With the gun his mother gave him, he intervenes and shoots the man dead. The adult David wakes up in a twilight world on the outskirts of a town, not knowing how he got there and what preceded it. The world offers no foothold: everywhere it is semi-dark and all conversations get stuck in incomprehensible logic. Until a man lets him know he'll be free once he knows the truth.
