A Little Princess plot

After the book of the same name by Frances Burnett. Sara Crewe (Amelia Shankley) is the spoiled darling of her father, an army captain. He sends her to a Victorian girls' school in London, run by the stern Miss Minchin (Maureen Lipman). But when her father dies, she doesn't own a cent and is condemned to a maid for all the work. Fortunately, she still has friends: girl Becky and her friends Ermengarde and Lottie, a monkey, an Indian sailor and the mysterious neighbor who make her hard life more bearable.
