Shortly before the turn of the century, Rainier can look to the future with confidence. But with his education finished, a job on the horizon and his girlfriend up for grabs, his plans are thwarted by the fall of the Wall. Now he is still stuck in his Thuringian native village, nursing his bedridden mother and living off welfare and the occasional short job. In his desperation, he decides to demand attention by means of a bomb. With the bomb in a suitcase on the back of the moped, he sets off for Berlin.
