Harmon (Buster Keaton) is a wealthy landlord. While visiting one of his tenants, he finds himself in an argument between a group of children. One of them, Clipper Kelly (Phillips) attacks Harmon. While defending himself, Harmon is seen by Margie (Page), Clipper Kelly's sister. For Harmon, it's love at first sight.
