One Way Boogie Woogie 2012 plot
In 1977, he filmed 60 locations - 60 seconds each - in the Milwaukee industrial area. He thus documented the traces of decay of the metropolitan landscape and offered a meditation on destruction and progress. Then James Benning made another film with the same 60 camera positions, together with the same Bolex 16mm camera and Nagra tape recorder: Twenty Seven Years Later (2004). It is an exploration of how memory functions and how badly the whole area has been affected by industrialization. In 2012, Benning returned for the third time, but he found only ten locations comparable to 1977. He added eight new places that are reminiscent of the original places.
