Återträffen plot

Twenty years after graduating from school, former students from a school in Stockholm are organizing a reunion. The table is set, the glasses are full and the atmosphere is perfect as the first guests slowly trickle in. However, when Anna Odell stands up, the reunion develops in a completely different direction than expected. Because unlike the others present, Anna's memories of school days are not only those of fun school trips and crackling campfires. Anna was bullied and ridiculed during their school days. That was nine years of her life. She has not forgotten this even after twenty years.

>:GLANDS keep on GLANDING!!! A person doesn't really change in character, and you can see that very clearly in this film! They were already mean bullies as teenagers, and when they got older, they were bullies again. They don't accept anything that points to negative traits in their character, which is why Anna still has to keep her mouth shut about what bothers and bothered her.

I was usually the one being picked on in class, and I suspect I was also a victim of bullying. It's a shame that, as a bullied person, you always remember it, while the bully forgets! My apologies anyway!

The film is beautifully acted, there is good depth in the story and it is a pity that some people never understand it, and therefore never learn anything from it.

Comparing this film to "Festen"? Yes, that's where the "old pain" comes to the surface, and you see the lack of understanding of the former perpetrators. Unfortunately, it will probably always remain this way, the natural hierarchy of beings!

Film about "bullying" and how bad its impact can be on "the victim", whether or not the bullies are fully aware of the harm.

A very original - and actually beautiful - construction of the film, which truly offers a stunning twist and a different perspective on what came before.

The film's diverse reactions, from realization to excuses and lies, are certainly impressive. Anna Odell plays this protagonist perfectly, though it must be said that the film was greatly enhanced by the excellent performances of almost all the actors, especially in the first half.

With this autobiographically tinged experiment, Anna Odell blurs the boundaries between fiction and reality.

In the first half, she plays herself in a fantasy, an alternate version of reality. She takes revenge with words. Her former classmates are played by actors.

The second half is a reenactment of reality, making it almost feel like a documentary. Now the classmates are playing themselves. It's a good sport that they act out their own reactions, even though they don't come across as very sympathetic.

The entire project is a form of psychosocial art therapy. For Odell, directing is a way to process mental health issues. By confronting her classmates with the result, the social environment is involved. They react defensively by denying, minimizing, avoiding confrontation, or making excuses.

It's interesting to compare the different perspectives. What was years of suffering for Anna was, according to others, of little consequence. High school students can hurt each other without fully realizing it. As an artistic, introverted person, Anna was an outsider and an easy victim. In this way, she gives a place to an unresolved past. The ugly duckling has become a swan.
