La Danse de Jupiter plot
Kinshasa, a city of ten million inhabitants, the weathered capital of a country adrift, the Democratic Republic of Congo. The old Kinois agree: in fifteen years their beautiful city has become a dump. And yet Kinshasa is bubbling with an exceptional energy, which is first and foremost expressed in the music. La Danse de Jupiter tells the story of an astonishing journey through the ghettos of Kinshasa, in search of the countless musicians who go to great lengths to become someone: rappers, disabled bluesmen, storytellers, street children, inventors of instruments ... Their talent, their vital energy and humor despite all setbacks command respect and admiration. One of them is Jupiter, the charismatic leader of the group Okwess International. This Don Quixote character tells us about his city and about his long struggle to escape the ghetto with his music.
