Boys Will Be Boys plot
dr. Alexander Smart hopes that his current employer, the headmaster of Blackstone Prison, will write a good reference letter so that he can get a position as headmaster of the Narkover School. In the presence of Smart, the director first dictates a positive letter, but wants to send a letter in which he burns Smart down. Ex-detainee Faker Brown convinces Smart to swap the second letter with the first, and Smart gets the job as a result. There he immediately clashes with the students and Colonel Crableigh, who actually had Smart's job in mind for his cousin.
