Faith Connections plot
Kumbh Mela is a sprawling religious event that takes place once every three years in one of four rotating venues. It is the largest gathering in the world, a destination for approximately 100 million Hindu pilgrims. Indian director Pan Nalin visited Kumbh Mela and found within that impossible crowd of travelers the stories that make up his “Faith Connections”. He focuses on naked holy men, taciturn policemen, desperate pilgrims in search of missing relatives, a yogi ascetic who takes it upon himself to raise an abandoned baby, and another who explains the usefulness of smoking marijuana as a method of to distance themselves from the world.
