Rosamunde Pilcher - Schlangen im Paradies plot

After eight years, zoologist Alex Reading returns to her home in Cornwall, where she takes charge of the zoo. She is completely unaware that she owes her job not only to her qualifications. Philip Burlington, the zoo's new owner and Alex's former fiancée, does everything he can to rectify his past mistake and start over with Alex. Without identifying himself, he has named Alex as Dr. Simon Shepard's successor. On her first day at work, however, it comes to a confrontation with Shepard...
