Rather cool.

It strikes me as mostly emotionless. While the themes it touches on do cut deeply into the soul of the still-young Sarah, very little of that comes across. It's a bit of a search for what it's actually about, because even that's unclear. Only one thing remains: Sarah doesn't care much about anything, unless it's about walking. But then without the passion you'd expect; it comes across more as an escape from reality. A message of ultimate emptiness, in other words. Just let me walk, then I don't have to think about anything.

I doubt that was the intention, and the film is rather dull anyway. It's not Sophie Desmarais' fault; she tries her best, but the script and direction really let them down. Where to, and why? These aren't such difficult questions—unless you ask them about life.

It was a decent watch, and I enjoyed myself, but the film literally went in all directions without focus, ultimately going nowhere. Lots of unfinished plots that are unconvincing because they're presented so half-heartedly. There's a homosexual undertone lingering somewhere, but I have no idea why. The relationship with that boy—what was that? The relationship with her mother—and what exactly was that? The film tries to say so much but ultimately says nothing and remains very superficial. Anyway, I enjoyed watching it. 3.0*.

Canadian teenager Sarah [Sophie Desmarais] wants to break through as a middle-distance runner, but lacks the proper guidance to guide her to the top. On impulse, she decides to marry and live with athlete Antoine [Jean-Sébastien Courchesne], but this only leads to complications that hinder Sarah's athletic prospects. The psychological sports drama takes a long time to get going, but Desmarais impresses and effortlessly holds the audience's attention.
