Mektoub plot

After a ten-year stay in the United States, where he trained as an ophthalmologist, Taoufik returns to Casablanca. Carefree and hopeful, he wants to start a new practice, assisted by his beautiful young wife Sophia. For a conference in Tangier they move into a luxury hotel. Then their nightmare begins. The drink they are offered by the hotel contains a narcotic. While Taoufik lies unconscious in bed, Sophia is kidnapped, raped and thrown back into the street. Once awake, Taoufik looks for his brother Kamel, a disenchanted police officer, and steals his service pistol. With that he goes to the building where his wife was raped. During the fight that breaks out there, he shoots one of his attackers dead. Just when he wants to turn himself in, he discovers that the dead man is a police commissioner. Thus begins Taoufik and Sophia's flight to a place where they are safe from the long arm of the corrupt police apparatus.
