In the Shadow of the Sun plot
In Tanzania, witch doctors still propagate the belief that the body parts of an albino bring wealth and prosperity. That superstition is so strong that albinos have to fear for their lives, and in many cases can't even live at home. Against the backdrop of a series of brutal murders of albinos, two men with albinism try to pursue their dream. Josephat has spent much of his life campaigning against discrimination against albinos, traveling from one community to another confronting people about their actions. His education has helped him through tough times, he says, and now he's trying to educate others. Fifteen-year-old Vedastus wants nothing more than an education. He is smart and creative, but his poor eyesight prevented him from attending school. Now he fervently hopes for another chance at a special school. To achieve their goals, Josephat and Vedastus must overcome not only the prejudices of others, but also their own fears, because behind every corner lurks a killer.
