Satin Rouge plot
Lilia (Hiyam Abbas) is an ordinary "decent" woman. She lives in Tunis with her growing daughter Salma (Hend El Fahem), whom she has been raising alone since her husband's death. Due to a combination of circumstances and to protect her daughter from what she sees as her abyss, Lilia goes to the cabaret one evening. She discovers a world that she sees as dangerous: the lights, the music, the dancers, the men, the pleasures... She flees with fear. But something forces her to return to the cabaret the next night. A whole new world opens up to her, appealing and disturbing at the same time; the world of the night, the dance and the fun. The cabaret offers her company and she befriends one of the star dancers. Eventually, Lilia blossoms and reveals herself as a dancer. She wants to lose herself, to let herself go. The pinnacle of this is the relationship she enters into with Chokri (Maher Kamoun), her daughter's boyfriend, one of the musicians in the cabaret.
