Children of the Dust plot

America, ca. 1880. The half-breed Gypsy Smith is a gunslinger and bounty hunter. Much to the dismay of the local white population, Smith leads a caravan of former Negro slaves to Oklahoma at the request of the black politician Mossburger. Along the way, Smith faces several challenges, including the racist Klu Klux Klan and the Cheyennes, led by "White Wolf" Corby. Adopted by the whites as a child after an attack on the Cheyennes, Corby eventually returned to his tribe. Smith was involved in that attack as an army officer.
