How to Describe a Cloud plot

When her mother goes blind, a young musician is suddenly forced to leave her metropolitan cocoon and travel back to the small island where she grew up. There, her scientific approach to blindness, in which she presents the world to her mother in words on a doctor's advice, clashes with her elderly mother's spiritual approach. She states that although she no longer sees the world around her, she still feels it just as well. Could the science-fiction drawings of the former scientist with whom the daughter flirts in town offer a middle ground?
