"Saladin"
Saladin, ruler of the kingdoms surrounding the state of Jerusalem, feels obliged to attack the Christians in the Holy Land after looting a convoy of Muslim pilgrims, a group to which his sister belonged. In a short campaign, Jerusalem is taken against all odds and almost the entire Middle East is now in Muslim hands. The word 'Crusade' is mentioned again in Europe, and the combined forces of the French king, the German emperor and the English king form the 3rd Crusade, led by Richard the Lionheart of England.
