Quand la Guerre Sera Loin plot

1914. Luck smiles on Louis Midavaine: he has completed his studies at the art academy, he took over his parents' paint shop with his brother and he is about to marry Marie-Louise. But then war breaks out and Louis has to go to the front. He ends up in a German hospital, seriously injured, where he becomes acquainted with the enamelling technique. Back in France, after the armistice, he decided to start an enamel workshop together with some craftsmen who, like him, came out of the war with disabilities.
