Hyeon Hae-taneun Algo Itda plot
In January 1944, Korean students are enlisted in the transport of the Japanese military unit in Nagoya. Among them are Aro-un and Inoue, two young men who were considered "dangerous characters" after speaking brutally to the Governor General. Mori, a soldier of higher seniority than Aro-un, treats him like a beast. He forces him to lick the dirty soles of his boots and makes him bark like a dog. One day, Aro-un meets the Japanese woman Hideko and they fall in love. He takes every opportunity to see Hideko, including while doing his military service. He tells her of his hardships in the army and she comforts him. Despite the fact that Hideko's mother is vehemently opposed to their relationship, they marry with a simple ceremony. Aro-un deserts his unit just before an American air raid and roams the streets during a bombing raid...
