Buck and the Preacher plot
"The fight was against the raiders... but the feud was between themselves!"
Buck, an ex-cavalry sergeant, and his wife Ruth escort a number of freed slaves west. 'Preacher' is part of the group. He is an ex-slave of a white pastor. However, he loves gold more than God and that creates tensions. Then the convoy is ambushed by a gang of racists, led by the sadistic Deshay, who believes that the slaves should stay in the south as cheap labor.
