Zeezenders in Woelig Water plot
On August 31, 1974, the sea transmitters off the Dutch coast were definitively banned and went off the air. Radio Veronica, Radio Nordsee International (alias RNI and Radio Noordzee), Radio Caroline and Radio London off the English coast were the trendsetter at the time. This documentary by TROS shows daily life on board the radio ships Norderney (Radio Veronica), Mebo II (Radio North Sea) and Mi Amigo (Radio Caroline), but also examines the backgrounds of the board members and staff and the history of the famous offshore channels, from their creation in 1959 until the government decision that had them disappear.
